Our standard (larger) Shetland Ponies can be ridden up to age approximately 11 years old.
Our "Own A Pony Experiences " will run throughout the summer holidays,in the mornings and again the afternoons.
Our popular "Own a pony week" consists of 4 mornings, or afternoons Monday to Thursday and allows the children to develop a bond with their pony
This year due to popular request, we are offering full day camps for children over six years old. See details below
Own A Pony Experiences
£39.95 per child for morning or afternoon session
Own a pony week (4 consecutive sessions) £159 per child
New 5 week course starts March 3rd 2012
Available:
Saturday 9am-11am
Sunday 9am-11am
Weekdays in holidays 10:15am-12:15pm and 2pm-4pm.
Please note that the ponies rest on Fridays.
Children will:
- Pick out their favourite pony
- Learn safety points
- Groom their pony
- Learn about pony care, hooves and feeding.
- Tack up
- Learn to lead
- Ride on the lead rein in our meadows
- Break for a drink and a biscuit
- Paddock care
- Second ride
- Look after pony on return
- Water and feed pony
- Clean tack
- Prize giving
Conditions:
We ask parents age four to six years to remain with the children and join in the fun and learn about the ponies too. After age six children may occasionally be left with us with Rosemary’s permission provided that they have already successfully completed an accompanied session and do not have any allergy risk.
Please wear trainers or wellies. Leggings and layers!

Conditions
Parents are invited to stay if they wish to join in the fun, but if this is not possible children may be left with us provided that they have no serious allergies. All parents must sign permission forms and leave us with contact details. Please insure that they have a healthy sized pack lunch and snack, children get hungry when they are outdoors all day. Water provided.
Parents to invited to arrive at 3:45pm for prize giving. Please insure children are wearing leggings and comfortable layers including a shower proof jacket, t-shirts with sleeves – no strappy tops please. Proper riding close are not required but do wear if you have them. We supply riding hats and sun cream (factor 30).Body protectors are not recommended when riding Shetland ponies.We go out in all but the very worst of weather. In the event of very high winds or pouring rain or extreme heat waves we will contact you by text to re arrange.
